About me
Hello, I'm Ginny Humphrey.
I am a Specialist Dyslexia Practitioner with a passion for helping children discover their strengths, overcome barriers, and grow in confidence as learners. I believe every child can succeed when they receive the right support in an environment where they feel understood, encouraged and valued.
My background includes many years working within primary education, including roles as a Primary School Speech and Language Support, and as an Assistant SENCo at a local preparatory school. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with families, teachers and external professionals to ensure children receive the personalised support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.
To further develop my specialist knowledge, I completed my training as a Specialist Dyslexia Practitioner at the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre, one of the UK's leading centres for dyslexia education and professional training. I also hold specialist training in Speech and Language Support for both Early Years and primary-aged children. Together, this experience enables me to provide evidence-informed, highly personalised teaching that is carefully tailored to each child's individual strengths, needs and learning profile.
I run my tutoring practice from my family home in Surrey, where I live with my husband, our two sons and Obi, our much-loved Cocker Spaniel. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, walking in the Surrey countryside, spending time with friends and family, and relaxing at home with Obi
